God’s Whisper (NOV 21)

There’s a Thief in the Midst

There’s a little garden spot that my brother works every year. Sometimes there are tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, watermelon and I think we even had cantaloupe one year.
Now I love Fried Green Tomatoes. I was waiting for those vines to bear its fruit. Nice green plump tomatoes. Good for frying and I could almost taste them.
There’s a Thief in the Midst
Tomatoes began to come on the vine and just at the right time they were ready to be picked.  I would look at them and say “I’ll get them tomorrow”, well you can imagine, that tomorrow never came.
There’s a Thief in the Midst
I was on my way out one morning to run errands and saw a squirrel running across the yard with something red in its mouth. As I watched him, it dropped that red thing out of his mouth onto the ground and then picked it up with his little paws. TOMATOES! That squirrel was eating a tomato.
I looked over that little garden spot and the SQUIRRELS had picked the vines clean.
THERE’S A THIEF IN THE MIDST AND IT WASN’T THE SQUIRRELS.
THE THIEF WAS PROCRASTINATION!
I allowed procrastination to come in and steal my gardens fresh tomatoes and a tasty dish.
Do you remember the song Tomorrow? Tomorrow, who promised you tomorrow? Better choose the Lord today, for tomorrow may very well might be too late.
I lost out on Fried Green Tomatoes because I Procrastinated.
Don’t miss out on what God has for you because you are saying I can do it tomorrow.
What have you allowed Procrastination to steal from you?  Or should I ask, “What have you given over to Procrastination?”
Proverbs 6:4 Don’t put it off, do it now! Don’t rest until you do it.
Most importantly: Don’t let procrastination steal the Gift of Salvation by you waiting for tomorrow because tomorrow may very well be too late.
Nobody but Jesus!

1 pkg Keebler Pecan Shortbread Cookies
1/4 cup toasted Pecans
5 Tablespoons melted Butter

Process the cookies and pecans to crumbs, add melted butter and press into a 9 inch pie plate
Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 -12 minutes.  Remove and completely cool.

1 – 8 oz Philly Whipped Cream Cheese
1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
1/4 cup Granulated White Sugar
